Central Heating Boilers

plumblinePlumb-Line works with the top manufactures of central heating boilers, who provide the latest technology and energy-efficient designs. Most manufacturers offer a comprehensive two year guarantee and some offer up to five years. Our close relationship with the manufacturers ensures that we price boilers competitively and we receive excellent after sales service.

Below is an outline of the different types of boilers we provide:

Gas central heating boilers

By law, all new gas boilers must now be high-efficiency condensing boilers unless it is impossible to fit one. Condensing boilers capture the heat that is normally lost by traditional boilers through the flue and reuse it. This means that a top of the range A-rated boiler could be as high as 96% efficient.

At Plumb-Line we provide gas boilers for traditional central heating systems, combination boilers, open vented or sealed system boilers as well as back boilers which have fire fronts to cover them.

Gas Safe
All of our engineers are Gas Safe Registered (the only official list of gas engineers legally able to perform gas work in the UK) and are happy to show you their ID card to prove it.

Boiler Manufacturers
We work with the following manufactures to supply high quality gas boilers:
Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) Boilers

If you’re not connected to the mains gas supply, but still want the comfort and convenience of gas, you can opt for liquid petroleum gas (LPG) central heating. It is clean burning with virtually no soot, and very few sulphur emissions. LPG has the lowest carbon emissions of all the fossil fuels available in rural areas and emits 11.7% less C02 than heating oil.*
At Plumb-Line we’re experienced in working in rural locations, supplying and installing LPG central heating boilers and systems.  Any gas boiler that we supply can be converted to LPG.

Oil-fired Central Heating

Plumb-Line is registered with OFTEC, the Oil-Fired Technical Association, and our technicians have been assessed for competence in installing and servicing oil-fired central heating.

Oil-fired central heating is generally used in rural locations where there is no mains gas supply. A good oil-fired central heating system contains the same controls as a modern gas-fired system, such as:
  • A room thermostat, ideally located in a living room, not the hallway
  • Thermostatic radiator valves on all but one of the radiators
  • A timer with separately programmable hot water and room heating
  • A cylinder thermostat on the hot water tank
  • The boiler and thermostats wired in an interlock to prevent short-cycling when there is no demand for either hot water or room heating
  • Boilers are also available as combination boilers

Efficiency Of Oil-Fired Boilers
Modern oil-fired boilers can be highly efficient with net seasonal operating efficiencies of up to 97%. As with gas boilers, the highest rated boilers offer the greatest efficiency, and there are many "A" rated models on the market. It has been mandatory since April 2007 to install condensing oil boilers to comply with Building Regulations.

Plumb-Line supplies and installs high quality and reliable oil-fired boilers from the following manufacturers:

Solid Fuel Central Heating

Solid fuel is an efficient and economical method of heating your home 24 hours a day. It’s convenient and easy to use, with modern pre-set controls to keep your home at the desired temperature throughout the day.

In addition to stoves and open fires, freestanding independent boilers are designed to provide domestic hot water and enough central heating for the entire home.

Plumb-Line is currently in the process of completing HETAS registration - the organisation recognised by the Department of the Environment as the official testing and approval body for the solid fuel industry.

Manufacturers of solid fuel boilers that we install include: Trianco, Charnwood and Aga
