Landlords and tenants in domestic properties

Plumb-Line provides a full central heating installation and maintenance service to landlords and tenants in domestic properties. We install all types of traditional central heating systems including energy efficient gas, oil and solid fuel boilers and stoves, under-floor heating and warm air ducted heating.

We also install and maintain a wide range of renewable energy heating systems and can advise on the government funding available. See our renewable energy section for more information. We are Green Deal accredited installers, employ a qualified Green Deal Advisor and carry out Green Deal Advice Reports (GDARs), Domestic Energy Assessments (DEAs) and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). We are also MCS accredited installers.

In addition, all Plumb-Line engineers are subject to DBS checks (Disclosure and Barring Service – formerly CRB) treating our customers and their homes with respect.

Regulations for landlords
Following The Energy Act 2011, there are planned regulations to improve the energy efficiency of buildings in the private rented sector in England and Wales. These include:

  1. Private domestic tenants will be able to request consent for energy efficiency measures that may not unreasonably be refused by their landlords. (Regulations must be in force by 1 April 2016.)
  2. Minimum energy efficiency standard regulations will require eligible properties in the rented sector to be improved to a specific minimum standard. For example, property owners whose buildings are rated as F and G in energy efficiency terms will not be allowed to let the buildings. (Regulations must be in force by 1 April 2018.)
