Apply for Green Homes Grant Vouchers before 5pm on 31 March

The Government has announced that the Green Homes Grant scheme will finish on 31 March 2021. This was the original end-date of the scheme when it was first announced, but it was later extended to 2022. This extension has now been removed. People who have had their applications for vouchers under the scheme accepted will receive any money owed, but no new applications will be accepted after the end of this month.

If you’ve received a quote from us for work under the Green Homes Grant, we encourage you to apply for a voucher as soon as possible. You can do this until 5pm on 31.03.21.

We are endeavouring to get all new quotes out to customers as quickly as possible. If you’re unsure whether or not to apply for a voucher, we encourage you to apply. This means that you’ll be in the queue, and when you do receive your voucher, you’re not obliged or committed to go ahead with the work.

All vouchers need to be redeemed by the expiry date shown on the voucher, which is three months from the date the voucher is issued.

The scheme was designed to encourage home owners to increase the insulation in their homes and switch to low carbon heating in order to meet targets in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

So far we have completed the following installations under the scheme.

2 x 100% air source heat pumps

2 x air source heat pumps and gas hybrid systems

1 x air source heat pump and oil hybrid system.

2 x solar thermal systems (in progress)

The installations have gone well and our customers are very happy. Unfortunately, the administration of the scheme has been cumbersome and time-consuming. We hope that the government learns lessons from this scheme and streamlines the process for future schemes.

You will still be able to apply for funding under the Renewable Heat Incentive. The money is paid back to you over a seven year period, instead of receiving a voucher.
