Green Homes Grant Vouchers

Applicants for the Green Homes Grant have started to receive their vouchers and we’ll be completing the first installations in the next few weeks. Plumb-Line is an accredited installer in the new government scheme to encourage people to introduce more energy-efficient measures into their homes.

We’ve been quoting for work installing energy-efficient heating systems into homes in Northamptonshire and all of the surrounding counties. We’ve have six heating installations confirmed in the first two weeks of January, which are all in Northamptonshire. They are:

·         Solar thermal (water heating) system in East Haddon

·         Solar thermal system and heating controls in Northampton

·         Air source heat pump hybrid system in Wellingborough.

·         Air source heat pump hybrid system in Northampton

·         Air source heat pump hybrid system with oil boiler in Higham Ferrers

·         Full air source heat pump system in Northampton

The Green Homes Grant runs until 31 March 2021 and homeowners in England can get vouchers worth up to £5,000 (or £10,000 if on certain means-tested benefits) to pay for energy efficient heating measures.

Vouchers must be used to install at least one primary home insulation or low carbon heating measure before secondary measures can be installed. Low carbon heating covered under the scheme includes air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, solar thermal and biomass boilers   - or they can be installed to form a hybrid system.

Secondary measures include hot water tank thermostats, hot water tank insulation  and heating controls. As well as being more environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient, all of these measures are expected to reduce heating bills over the longer term.
