Green Homes Grant

Plumb-Line is an accredited installer in the new government scheme to make homes more energy-efficient. The Green Homes Grant launched on 30 September 2020 and runs until 31 March 2022. Homeowners in England can get vouchers worth up to £5,000 (or £10,000 if on certain means-tested benefits) to pay for energy efficient heating measures.

Vouchers must be used to install at least one primary home insulation or low carbon heating measure before secondary measures can be installed. Primary measures include wall, under-floor, loft and roof insulation as well as low carbon heat systems. Low carbon heating covered under the scheme includes air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, solar thermal and biomass boilers  - or they could be installed to form a hybrid system.

Secondary measures include hot water tank thermostats, hot water tank insulation
and heating controls such as smart heating controls, zone controls, intelligent delayed start thermostat and thermostatic radiator valves. Not only will these measures be more environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient, they are expected to reduce heating bills over the longer term.

With over 30 years’ of experience in central heating installation, we embraced renewable energy some years ago and are MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) and PAS2030 accredited. These are internationally-recognised quality assurance schemes, giving us a mark of competency and demonstrating that we can install to the highest quality every time. This has enabled us to easily gain the TrustMark accreditation required to be an installer for the Green Homes Scheme.
