Improving central heating efficiency in Luton

Plumb-Line has installed more than 60 new central heating boilers free of charge in homes in the Luton area. This is part of the Government’s Affordable Warmth or HHCRO (Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation) Scheme to help reduce domestic heating bills and alleviate fuel poverty. The scheme is available for people who live in a privately owned or privately rented property and have an old, broken or inefficient heating system and receive specific benefits. (For details go to

Adrian Brown, Managing Director of Plumb-Line said: “The Affordable Warmth or HHCRO Scheme is a great opportunity for people on low incomes to get a free boiler as well as reducing their fuel bills and making their homes more comfortable. By upgrading central heating systems and replacing the old gas boilers with new boilers that are more efficient, we have made a big difference to some people’s homes in Luton.”

As well as the Luton area, Plumb-Line is installing free boilers under the scheme in the rest of Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and across the East Midlands.
